Tucked away between Crowborough and Hadlow Down is a secluded private country estate with the facilities to cater for large or smaller weddings in a versatile setting.
For readers who have lived in the area for a long time, you may remember the site was home to the largest pig unit in the South East from 1970 until 1999.
Owner David, kept hold of the site and in 2010 began creating a wedding venue after his good friend asked if his daughter could use the space for her wedding as she really wanted to use a farm setting for her special day. Since then, the site has had much work completed to make it the magical place it is.
Briar House Barns truly is a hidden gem set in 40 acres of beautiful countryside. It is a blank canvas for couples to create their dream weddings or special occasion parties with both indoor and outdoor spaces available.
The Great Barn is a magnificent structure for larger events. It is a flexible building that can be adapted in many ways to suit all requirements. With a moveable internal wall, it can be remodelled for the number of guests attending your event and can accommodate from 40 guests upwards. The doors take you out onto the terrace and outdoor space where guests can enjoy canapés, drinks and entertainment in the warmer months.
It also has a newly built and very glamorous bar, a black & white dance floor that can be adjusted in size, comfortable internal facilities and a selection of tables and chairs should you wish to use them.
The Stone Barn is a great space for smaller weddings. This is also one of the three licenced areas to hold your wedding ceremony. It can host ceremonies with up to 70 guests, has a private room for the signing of the register as well as access to a kitchen facility for making teas/coffees or light catering. The Stone Barn also has it’s own separate outside space to enjoy in the warmer months.
If you are dreaming of an outdoor wedding you could take advantage of The Bridge Lawn with the backdrop of the Great Barn on one side and the green countryside on the other. The possibilities here are endless to decorate as you would like.
David and the team are able to help bring couples’ visions to life. They have worked with many caterers, planners, and other services who are familiar with the workings of the venue and have a full list of suppliers to hand if you need them. The team will support you to ensure your day runs smoothly.
It could be that you are looking for something a little unique or unusual for your big day and the team believe it is important to make sure you include some of your personality into your big day. You might want a steel drum band or maybe limbo dancing, the wedding team are able to assist in sourcing any unique or unusual suppliers. More recently they were able to fulfil a request to have a Mariachi Band to entertain guests and the team organised just that.
David says “The team are always happy for a challenge when it comes to sourcing suppliers and we haven’t disappointed yet!“
With so much space available, there is also the opportunity for guests to camp in style on the grounds and there is plenty of parking for all your guests.
