The Chamber has had a very active year and our renewals show how popular membership is as we now have nearly 100 members.  We said goodbye to a few members this year mainly due to retirement and family commitments but have welcomed 29 new members in the last 12 months.

The monthly breakfast meetings at Crowborough Beacon Golf Club continue to be very popular.  Many members and non-members have enjoyed a delicious, cooked breakfast whilst networking, well worth the 7am start!  We intend to continue this winning formula for the foreseeable future.

It has been wonderful to see so many attending our full Chamber member meetings and we have enjoyed presentations from the following: Crowborough Hub, AHP Photography, ACES, JXG Management Solutions, Wealden District Council and Green Transition Crowborough.

The AGM in March was very well attended and we enjoyed an informative presentation from the Crowborough First Responders, who are a team of specially trained volunteers responding to emergency 999 calls in partnership with South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust.  We are very lucky to have such an amazing team of volunteers operating in our area.

Our annual Expo in April was a great success and special thanks must go to our Mayor, Councillor Matthew Street, who opened the proceedings.  Ashdown Radio once again broadcast live from the event with on-the-spot interviews throughout the day from the exhibitors and local businesses.  This added an extra buzz to the event and we hope they will be broadcasting live again at our next one.

Our summer meeting and social event was held on a rare sunny evening at Babylon Eco Centre, Duddleswell.  It provided a great opportunity to launch our new website and branding which was extremely well received and we would like to thank North Star Creative who provided this service for us.

To round off a busy year, in December Crowborough Beacon Golf Club hosted our annual cheese and wine Christmas party.

Our Chamber’s Executive team has been actively engaged in local governance by attending various meetings, including local authority council meetings, town planning sessions, district chamber gatherings and sourcing funding opportunities.

Thank you to all the businesses and associations who have supported us this year and to all the members old and new who have been in touch.
