It’s amazing what you can discover when you nip down some of the alleys that are dotted around the town centre and I certainly had a surprise when I visited Jenz Hair Salon, tucked away on Croft Road between This & That and Diamond Geezers Barbers.
Jenz Hair Salon opened in August 2014 and is owned and run by Senior Stylist Jenny Hasler. It’s difficult to believe but Jenny has been in the hairdressing business for over 16 years, learning the trade as an apprentice when she finished her schooling right here in Crowborough
Jenny had been looking to open her own salon in Crowborough and when she discovered the room had become available she jumped at the chance to take it on. What was initially a bare shell was transformed into a functioning salon in just a month, with the help of family and friends.
Having been in the industry for as long as she has, Jenny already has a loyal client base who travel in from neighbouring towns to continue to have their hair cut and styled by her.
The feedback she has received already from her clients on the salon has been extremely positive with many saying how refreshing it was to have their salon experience in such a warm and homely atmosphere. This is exactly the reaction Jenny was after when she designed the salon. When you approach the front door you think you’re visiting someone at their house!
You can tell from the minute you set foot inside Jenz Hair Salon that you will receive a personal, tailored service. Set away from the main road, the atmosphere is rather tranquil and you can easily forget you’re in the middle of Crowborough town centre.
Whilst the salon is small, it is perfectly formed and the full range of salon treatments you’d expect are available; from cutting and colouring to perming and styling. Jenny is also happy to receive younger clientele in the salon, with distractions to hand whilst she gets on with the business of cutting their hair.
