Lingfield Notre DameLingfield is a fully co-educational, independent day school only 30 minutes’ drive from Crowborough.  The School has over 900 students with ages ranging from 2.5 to 18.  We pride ourselves on being progressive and innovative whilst being family focused and rooted in the local community.

The School has grown significantly in the last 20 years and our facilities are modern and well resourced.  Academic standards are high and university destinations are impressive.  There is an excellent Scholarship programme available which is compulsory for scholars but open to any interested students.  Academic Scholarships are available, as well as scholarships for excellence in Music, Art, Drama and Sport.  Please see the Admissions section of our website www.lingfieldnd.co.uk for further details.216 Ewell Castle v LNDS

The Sports programme is highly successful: fixtures are played against all of the major independent schools in Kent and East Sussex.  However, we are keen that sport is available to all.  A to E level teams play in a majority of our major sports and we also cater for many of the “minority” sports including Golf, Badminton, Table-Tennis and Equestrian activities.

Trips are a vital part of the curriculum with sports tours to Europe and beyond. Pupils have undertaken many culturally enriching visits, for example to Paris, Amsterdam, Rome and Iceland.  The Duke of Edinburgh programme is particularly strong with nearly all of Year 10 taking their Bronze award and many of them progressing onto Silver and then Gold.

Lingfield Notre DameThe Co-curricular programme is something that we are especially proud of, with all students participating in at least three lunchtime clubs a week ranging from Photography to Astronomy.

The House system is very popular and inter-house competitions are a highlight of the school calendar.  Not only do the Houses compete in traditional sports but also in other activities such as quizzes, problem solving and board games for those who aren’t particularly sporty.  One of the characteristics of the School is its generous attitude towards charity.  Many local as well as national charities are supported. From football kits to Malawi, to local charities such as Jigsaw and Crawley Open House, the students give up their time and money generously.

Lingfield prides itself on being a very good but also a very friendly school where the pastoral care is exceptional. Teachers go the “extra mile” to deliver quality lessons and ensure they know each tutee of their form group. The communications between the parents and the School are first rate.

There has also been a significant investment in Digital Learning and the range of iPads and Apple TVs alongside two mac suites means that traditional teaching sits comfortably with cutting edge technology.

To get a real taste of what Lingfield can offer, take the short hop across the Forest and make an appointment to tour the School.

We look forward to seeing you in the near future!
