At the end of 2021 the Chamber celebrated its 10th anniversary, having established itself over the years as a significant voice representing businesses in the Crowborough area. The Chamber has influenced decisions taken by local authorities, Members of Parliament and even Government Ministers. It was instrumental in encouraging other local Chambers to work collectively on issues affecting all areas of East Sussex, being one of the driving forces behind the formation of ACES (Alliance of Chambers in East Sussex); creating a powerful voice for over 4,000 businesses. The Chamber is immensely proud of what has been achieved over a relatively short period of time.
More recently the Chamber has been at the centre of supporting members through an incredibly challenging couple of years as a result of the pandemic; keeping them informed of changes to regulations, sources of funding and promoting initiatives to help get businesses back on their feet. Our members have shown incredible resolve and the majority have managed to continue trading having adapted to the new normal.
Going into 2022, we urge everyone wherever possible to shop local, employ a local trades person or use the services of a local company. By doing so you will help to bolster the local economy, ensure the long term survival of businesses and have a positive knock on effect in rebuilding prosperity in the area in the future.
Throughout 2022, Crowborough & District Chamber of Commerce will continue to promote the commercial and general interests of businesses in Crowborough, making representation to local government, statutory bodies and consultative panels and providing networking and growth opportunities to business.
If you are a local business, charity, organisation or group and would be interested in joining the Chamber then please visit our website for details regarding membership. www.crowboroughchamber.co.uk
